Session 1 – Solar Expansion: Leveraging Tunisia’s Vast Solar Potential and the Wider Push for Renewables

The 10th edition of Renpower Maghreb 2025 will bring together high-level representatives from Tunisia’s energy institutions, development partners and industry leaders to explore the country’s progress toward a low-carbon future.

Mustapha Taoumi, Deputy Team Leader and Key Expert – Renewables & Green Technologies at the EU-funded MED-GEM Network, will join the Session 1 panel on Solar Expansion, alongside:

• Belhassen Chiboub, Director General of Electricity and Energy Transition, Ministry of Industry and Energy – Tunisia
• Nafâa Baccari, General Manager, ANME
• Amira Klibi, Senior Energy Specialist, World Bank
• Amin Chtioui, Project Director, GIZ Tunisia

The session will examine the country’s solar roadmap, new tenders, investment opportunities and technological innovations, while highlighting MED-GEM’s role in supporting Tunisia’s clean-energy transition and promoting EU-Tunisian cooperation in decarbonisation and Power-to-X technologies
