As part of its mission to strengthen EU–SMC–GCC cooperation on green hydrogen and advanced fuels, the MED-GEM Network is pleased to announce its partnership in the upcoming EU Hydrogen & Advanced Fuels Breakthrough Summit, a flagship event set to take place during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026.

Co-organised with the EU-GCC Cooperation on Green Transition Project, the Delegation of the European Union to the UAE, the Embassy of Germany in the UAE, and Masdar, the Summit will convene over 300 key actors from the EU, GCC and wider MENA region to accelerate cross-border collaboration on hydrogen and sustainable fuels value chains.

Why this Summit matters

This high-level gathering offers a unique platform to:
• Gain insights into hydrogen policies and strategies across Europe, the Gulf and Mediterranean regions
• Engage directly with policymakers, industry leaders, financiers and innovators
• Explore certification and regulatory pathways enabling global hydrogen trade
• Discover EU-led cooperation models and public–private success stories
• Join curated matchmaking sessions and targeted networking opportunities

What to expect

The Summit will feature three key sessions shaping the future of hydrogen cooperation:

🔹 Strategic Cooperation Roundtable
How EU–SMC–GCC collaboration can unlock large-scale hydrogen corridors, shared investments and resilient value chains.

🔹 Certification & Regulatory Convergence
Guarantees of origin, mutual recognition and safety standards to build trust and boost export readiness.

🔹 Technology & Market Readiness
Scaling production, infrastructure and innovation while de-risking investments and strengthening business ecosystems.

A Team Europe effort with real impact

The event aims to generate tangible outcomes, including investment commitments, MoUs, policy roadmaps and capacity-building actions.
For the MED-GEM Network, it is a critical opportunity to highlight the Southern Mediterranean’s role in shaping a resilient, interconnected hydrogen economy.

Who will be there?

Ministers, regulators, hydrogen developers, industrial leaders, financiers, research institutions, and international organisations from across: EU – GCC – Southern Mediterranean Countries
